I think Racism is something that takes place every day. Some people might not see it, but it actually is there. Racism can come up in so many ways. You might not even know you are being Racist. I think that some people think that they can’t do anything because they are not in a place to make change. I think this is false. You have a voice. No one is stopping you from using it.

Being a person of colour myself, I have experienced Racism myself. I know how it feels to be treated differently because of the colour of my skin. Some people think that it is not a big deal, but that means you don’t really understand what Racism is.

So what is Racism?

Racism is when you have prejudice towards a group because of the colour of their skin or their culture or religion. This means calling them words, treating them differently than others and just bullying them.

How is Racism shown in present day?

Almost everyone has heard of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Stephen Lawrence and so many more who have been killed because of their differences from the majority of the population. These killings have been going on for a long time and it is time we stand up for ourselves to make people aware that this is a really serious problem that has to be solved before more people are hurt and killed.

I really don’t think that humanity will just stay quiet and watch while people get hurt. I hope that people take a risk and try their hardest to make a change in the world, we can make it a better place. I urge you to use all your heart and soul to help everyone and to remember that if you do nothing, it means you are just a bystander.
